forever21 shopping haul 5

I applaud my shopping skills. I placed yet another order at forever 21 using my giftcard a week after my previous one and it's $209.44 altogether. How is this gift card prize going to last me? Hopefully there won't be anything much to get during autumn and winter with all that crazy sweater weather. But i crush on cardigans and pretty sweaters so much, it's going to be hard.

I used a 20% discount code with this purchase. F21 sent me an email one fine day telling me that they have been having technical issues and apologised for it, but I didn't know their website was malfunctioning. Everything seemed alright to me. Maybe they're just finding a reason to give a discount code and I'm not complaining. This saved me a lot. Plus, I used Ebates to get 4% cashback on my purchase. (Sign up and get $5 immediately! Such graphics are quite in trend nowadays so although these are probably suitable only on mondays and maybe on sundays, I got it anyway because I just couldn't resist it. The material is really soft so it fits nicely. I'd wear it with denim shorts and plaid tied around the waist, and white sneakers to finish the look.

NYC Knit Tee $12.80

This shirt is super soft as well and makes a very cute crop top. The waist is very flowy so I'd match it with some denim shorts or woven shorts and sneakers for a casual look.

I'm not a big sunflower fan (more of a daisy girl), but this shirt had a nice sunflower print that was not too glaring and in-your-face. It is also made of the same soft material as the shirts above so it feels really nice to touch and wear.

This top has got to be one of my favourites. I love the details of the top. It's a bit expensive but it's got a lace back and front, and crochet trimmings and pretty crochet details at the front! I'd pair it with a kimono or marled cardigan on top of this outfit here. It would be great for boho chic looks as well. It actually fits weird on though. The straps are quite long and the centrepiece is translucent so you can see right through. So you either wear a low cut bra or a white one.

Well, got these to wear with my graphic tees around my waist or as an outerwear because I'm getting bored of my flannels in my cupboard.

These shoes definitely fit true to size and are super comfortable! They fit a medium width foot and the soles look really good, like they would last a long time. For the price, I think these shoes are a must-buy! Moreover, white plimsolls are so in trend right now. I just ordered the black one as well. I hope they bring in more colours.

This is such a pretty necklace. I'm loving anything with feathers and arrows right now. They are quite long though, but still good for a boho chic look.

I was hoping that these shorts would fit me better since the sizing runs small for forever21, but they are still quite loose at the waist and hips. Guess I gotta wear a belt with it as well. The thigh openings are also big.. I haven't planned an outfit with these yet but they would look good with simple tops.

Can't seem to resist these woven shorts although I haven't figured out how to style them yet. The rose prints are too cute!

These are similar to the tribal print tulip shorts I bought in my previous haul. They'd go well with simple tops so that the attention would be directed to these super cute shorts.

These round sunglasses are not as huge as the ones I bought before so I prefer to wear these. I think they look better on me hehe.

These are quite expensive but the details and lace are so pretty!! It feels really good as well because it is fully lined. If you are looking for woven shorts, invest in these because they can match anything! Yup, save your money for these (and not the others).

I got this skater skirt in dark grey but I just ordered the black one because it came back in stock. It is actually quite long in my opinion but it is a staple and reasonably priced. I wouldn't say it is made of quality material unlike the reviews on the website. It is just plain average cotton to me. There are better cotton skirts at f21 but for a higher price. If you are just going for the look, these are good.

This kimono has got to be a favourite. I love how flowy it is and the fact that it is a maxi makes any outfit elegant and cool! It kinda reaches my ankles so I guess I'll be wearing it with boots or shoes with a bit of heel.

So glad I got these as well because the lace trims are cute and goes with printed tops. I will be styling more of this soon!

Uhhh haven't tried this on yet, so I have nothing to say.

I know it is summer, but my love for floral leggings will not end!

Roses and lace are always a cute combo. I have no idea what else in my closet would match these shorts other than lace. I'm waiting on my new orders with basic spags in white and black that I could use to match with my woven shorts so these will have to do for now.

Real vs Fake Adidas Superstar/Stan Smith

I've wanted to do this post for a long time, ever since I started on my crazy collection of Adidas Superstars. I mean, I think I make quite a credible source because at one point, I owned 14 pairs of Superstars and Stan Smiths. I will be migrating my Superstar collection post over to this blog over the coming days so that you can read up on where I got them.

I'm not sure if these shoes are still as popular and wanted now because I am sort of out of the loop but if you are looking to get yourself a pair of Superstars or Stan Smiths, these are a few pointers to look out for in identifying if what you are buying is real or fake. Take note that these features are mostly applicable to recent releases only. Old models and Superstar 80s are slightly different. Then again, old models are not sold in stores anymore so if you find brand new pairs elsewhere, you should be cautious.

I owned a a few pairs of fake Superstars before I purchased my first original pair from the Adidas website. …

ALL ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip Swatches on Asian Skin + Review

Recently, I dug into my collection of ColourPop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipsticks and swatched all the available shades on their website. I'm missing 5 from the website and over here, I have 31. The rest have been swatched in other collection videos/posts.

Midi (Pale Dusty Pink) Against my skin tone, this is like a pastel pink. The color remains quite close to that of the tube but the formula is slightly thick and it does settle in my lip lines and feel dry. Not exactly a color I would pull off often but I can see it working with a colorful eye look or a smokey eye.

Bianca (Soft Mauve) Love this shade and it remains quite true to the tube but it is so drying and crumbly on the lips. It accentuates my lip lines and it cracks when I smile. One of the worse formulas in this bunch, especially considering that it is a nude and most companies do not mess these sort of colors.

Clueless (Dusty Mauve) This is a really cute shade. It pulls off pinker on me than in the tube and although ColourPop d…

diy: hair bows

From the cloth I bought recently at Daiso, and with the major diy mood I was in, I decided to make a bunch of hair bows to wear when school reopens. My tutorial has been inspired and sourced through many inspirations on pinterest.  Start off with a rectangular or square piece of fabric. Squares will result in bows like the blue floral one above while rectangles will be like this bow in the tutorial. Mine measured about 24cm by 12cm. For my blue floral one, i used a 15cm by 15 cm square. Fold your fabric in half, with the insides facing out and straight stitch as highlighted. Leave a gap at the edge because you will be inverting the fabric after you're done sewing. This gap should also be of reasonable size, not to small or you will have trouble inverting the cloth. Once you are done, invert the fabric and  straighten it out. You can sew up the gap at this point if it bothers you. Using a pin or a needle, make some pleats with the fabric and pin through to get the bow shape. Once yo…
