debshops haul 4

I am quite pleased with my purchases from debshops this time because everything was on sale and stuff were quite cheap, plus in my size! I spent $60 on the dot. I got three dresses at $10 each, two tops at $5 each and a pair of jeans and shorts at $10 each. Quite a good deal in my opinion. Some of these items are still available but they are not as cheap as I bought them. They are still relatively cheap because they are at the clearance section so there is always some kind of sales going on.
I think this has got to be my favourite slip dress that I hauled. I absolutely love the prints on the dress and the tiered flowy babydoll look. The straps are kinda long though so the dress hangs quite low. You can always tie the straps up or wear a cute bandeau underneath! The dress is quite light and made of chiffon so it is the ideal summer dress.
This dress is slightly longer and made of super stretchy cotton. It cinches in at the waist and flares out so that is rather cute for a summer dress as well. The prints are cute and would make a great outfit for a little picnic!
Pineapple Print Babydoll Dress
This dress is rather popular and has sold out, unfortunately. It features pineapple prints and an open back like a jada dress. It is made of chiffon though and the open back is quite huge. The straps are super long too and that is one bad thing I find about debshops dresses. I don't understand why they do not use adjustable straps. Otherwise, this is a really cute dress to wear. So fun and yummy.
Flowy Tank with Spaghetti Straps and Crochet Hem
This top is also quite popular. Such designs have been around for quite awhile already but I never bothered with them. But for $5, I grabbed it immediately. I would have preferred white but it was only left in black. The crochet trim has been attached quite well and feels of quality too so that impressed me the most and made me glad that I got this top. It goes with a lot of things and adds detail to an otherwise basic outfit.
Crop Tank Top with Ruffle Hem and Cage Back
This chiffon top features a criss cross back detail and tiered layers. What I love most are the criss cross details. They are so cute and flirty.
I got this pair of denim shorts because almost famous shorts fit me perfectly in size 00 and size 0. They go up to my belly and sit pretty well but they are kinda similar to a pair that I already own. Pair it with graphic tees and flannels for that casual rugged look.

That's it for now. I have another package from debshops waiting at my US forwarder but that is filled with shoes so I'm going to delay shipping that back.

Real vs Fake Adidas Superstar/Stan Smith

I've wanted to do this post for a long time, ever since I started on my crazy collection of Adidas Superstars. I mean, I think I make quite a credible source because at one point, I owned 14 pairs of Superstars and Stan Smiths. I will be migrating my Superstar collection post over to this blog over the coming days so that you can read up on where I got them.

I'm not sure if these shoes are still as popular and wanted now because I am sort of out of the loop but if you are looking to get yourself a pair of Superstars or Stan Smiths, these are a few pointers to look out for in identifying if what you are buying is real or fake. Take note that these features are mostly applicable to recent releases only. Old models and Superstar 80s are slightly different. Then again, old models are not sold in stores anymore so if you find brand new pairs elsewhere, you should be cautious.

I owned a a few pairs of fake Superstars before I purchased my first original pair from the Adidas website. …

ALL ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip Swatches on Asian Skin + Review

Recently, I dug into my collection of ColourPop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipsticks and swatched all the available shades on their website. I'm missing 5 from the website and over here, I have 31. The rest have been swatched in other collection videos/posts.

Midi (Pale Dusty Pink) Against my skin tone, this is like a pastel pink. The color remains quite close to that of the tube but the formula is slightly thick and it does settle in my lip lines and feel dry. Not exactly a color I would pull off often but I can see it working with a colorful eye look or a smokey eye.

Bianca (Soft Mauve) Love this shade and it remains quite true to the tube but it is so drying and crumbly on the lips. It accentuates my lip lines and it cracks when I smile. One of the worse formulas in this bunch, especially considering that it is a nude and most companies do not mess these sort of colors.

Clueless (Dusty Mauve) This is a really cute shade. It pulls off pinker on me than in the tube and although ColourPop d…

diy: hair bows

From the cloth I bought recently at Daiso, and with the major diy mood I was in, I decided to make a bunch of hair bows to wear when school reopens. My tutorial has been inspired and sourced through many inspirations on pinterest.  Start off with a rectangular or square piece of fabric. Squares will result in bows like the blue floral one above while rectangles will be like this bow in the tutorial. Mine measured about 24cm by 12cm. For my blue floral one, i used a 15cm by 15 cm square. Fold your fabric in half, with the insides facing out and straight stitch as highlighted. Leave a gap at the edge because you will be inverting the fabric after you're done sewing. This gap should also be of reasonable size, not to small or you will have trouble inverting the cloth. Once you are done, invert the fabric and  straighten it out. You can sew up the gap at this point if it bothers you. Using a pin or a needle, make some pleats with the fabric and pin through to get the bow shape. Once yo…
