Give Me Glow Cosmetics Matte Liquid Lipstick Swatches & Review

This is a long overdue review because I first purchased from this brand early on this year (Jan?) when they were having their annual 50% birthday sale. I picked up a bunch of lippies but never got around to doing a full swatch and review video because I had wanted to collect more before swatching everything. Ideally, I would like to own all of them so that all shades are included but home girl is going broke from all these new cosmetics releases that continuously drop left right and center.

Give Me Glow cosmetics is an indie brand that started out from Etsy but they have grown quite a bit. If you are into indie cosmetics, this is a brand I'm pretty sure you would have heard about already. The owner Brandy always makes really nice flattering shades and I do admire her work. The matte liquid lipsticks retail for $13.25 and you get 6.5ml of product. It's not a bad pricing but it gets pretty expensive if you are a hoarder like me.

For this video and review post, I only swatched the shades that I had that were still available on the website. A lot of shades have been discontinued. I do hate when brands discontinue shades because some of them are really pretty shades, but I do understand that she has to make them in batches and cosmetics expire and if a particular shade doesn't sell well, then it's a waste.

This is a review on the newest formula
These liquid lipsticks are housed in a chubby tube with a paddle foot applicator. I found that some stoppers were a little loose so it didn't help in draining the product so my applicator ended up with way too much product for my lips. The consistency of these liquid lipsticks are mostly a thin watery texture. It does vary a little from shade to shade. Some of them are super liquidy while others are a little bit creamier. Nonetheless, they are super pigmented and you only need one thin layer for full coverage. They are very comfortable to wear all day long. As long as you keep yourself well hydrated throughout the day, these will not dry out your lips. They will not crack or crumble. These are supposed to be matte and kiss proof but they sort of remind me of ColourPop's Ultra Satin Lips. They take quite awhile to dry down but even so, some of them look like they have more of a satin matte finish rather than a matte matte finish. Some of them are transfer proof, and some of them are not. However, they do not transfer drastically. You can wipe them off easily with a water based wet wipe. Oil will definitely remove it. It did hold up pretty well with Subway, although I was trying my best not to destroy my lipstick. At the end of it, the inner rim had faded a tiny bit - nothing major that required touching up.

Vintage Mauve (Mid-toned Mauve Pink)
This one pulls really pink on me although I can see the purple tones in the tube. It also had a very thin and watery consistency so it almost looks like I put on lip gloss in the picture. This wold have taken ages to dry down so I did not wait.

Berry Smoothie (Pink Mauve Berry)
This was created to dupe Posie K by Kylie Cosmetics. This had a thin watery texture too so it looks like a lip gloss in this picture. It will eventually dry down but I had to move on to other swatches.

She's All That (Plum Mauve)
This was created to be a dupe for Jeffree Star's Androgyny liquid lipstick. I do not own that shade so I can't compare but the swatch comparisons I've seen so far are pretty accurate. This one had a thin watery texture too but it isn't as bad as the previous two.

Gloomy (Mauve Nude)
This isn't a kind of shade that you haven't seen before. It's a pinky purple nude shade for everyday wear. It's pretty and kind of an essential in anyone's collection. This one dried to a matte finish.

Chilly (Berry Mauve)
Again, nothing new with this shade but it is still beautiful and super pigmented. This one had a creamier consistency and dried matte. It also dries down slightly darker than in the tube.

Daddy (Terracotta Nude)
This is one of the best-selling shades. I mean, I think most people have a thing for warm toned orange shades except for me. I was surprised that this didn't pull too orange on me and it actually looks very neutral.

Hocus Pocus (Beige Nude with a hint of Red)
I honestly don't see the red but since Brandy described it as such, it means that she did put some red pigments in it. This is a nice dark nude shade for everyday wear. This one had a creamier consistency and dried matte. It dries slightly darker than in the tube.

Pink Coco (Rosy Milk Chocolate)
This is a pinky brown shade. The texture of this was on the creamier side. Very pigmented and the color is pretty true to the tube. This shade seems to have more of a satin matte finish. This dries slightly darker than in the tube.

Miss September (Rich Berry)
This berry pink shade is also pretty common among lipstick brands so if you have something similar, you could skip on it. If you are a fan of the formula, grab it.

Sweater Weather (Dark Red)
This is a true blue-based dark red. Simply gorgeous and not streaky or patchy at all. Very fall appropriate too.

Miss October (Muted Red with hints of Orange and Pink)
This was created to be a dupe for Kristen by Kylie Cosmetics. Compared to Apple Cinnamon below, this is much brighter and more of a pinky-red shade. I would have preferred if it were a little more muted and toned down but it's a cute color.

Apple Cinnamon (Reddish Nude)
I really dig this shade of red. It's not too red and it leans more on the pinky red side so it is perfect for those who do not want a full on red lip. I think it exudes youthful feminine vibes.

Rust Couture (Blue Based Rustic Brick)
This is a nice neutral brick shade that doesn't lean too warm or orange toned. It's a true brick red and I dig it a lot. Goes great with warm and cool looks. This one had a creamier consistency and dried to a matte finish.

Country Red (Rustic Red)
This is a dark red with hints of brown. I really like how unique it is. Unfortunately, this will be discontinuing soon.

Lara Croft (Grunge Medium Grey Brown)
I love this shade and I'm so sad that I do not wear it often enough. This is a really unique brown with hints of grey and pink. It's honestly very wearable and definitely will not wash you out.

Autumn's Soul (Dark Berry)
This is a dark purple shade with hints of pink. It is super pigmented too. That patch got a little sheer because my applicator ran out of product but otherwise, this would apply really evenly and rich. This one dried matte.
Bewitched (Deep Smokey Plum)
Being a super dark blackened purple, you would expect this to be patchy or drying but it is the exact opposite. This is fully pigmented with no streakiness or patchiness to it. The texture is on the creamy side and it is super comfortable to wear.

Haunted Forest (True Olive Green)
I find this to be a very warm toned olive with hints of yellow and orange in it. I would call my lips frog lips with this shade on. This one had a thin watery consistency and because my lips were super stained from swatching the previous shades, it kind of looks sheer in some areas. This one took a super long time to dry down so it looks like a satin matte here.

Here is the comparison chart of all 18 shades that I swatched:

Below is my personal ranking for all the liquid lipsticks that I have tried so far. They are weighed against the price, some pros and cons. Those marked with * indicates that they are not necessarily transfer proof / satin liquid lipsticks (they will naturally be more comfortable).

Real vs Fake Adidas Superstar/Stan Smith

I've wanted to do this post for a long time, ever since I started on my crazy collection of Adidas Superstars. I mean, I think I make quite a credible source because at one point, I owned 14 pairs of Superstars and Stan Smiths. I will be migrating my Superstar collection post over to this blog over the coming days so that you can read up on where I got them. I'm not sure if these shoes are still as popular and wanted now because I am sort of out of the loop but if you are looking to get yourself a pair of Superstars or Stan Smiths, these are a few pointers to look out for in identifying if what you are buying is real or fake. Take note that these features are mostly applicable to recent releases only. Old models and Superstar 80s are slightly different. Then again, old models are not sold in stores anymore so if you find brand new pairs elsewhere, you should be cautious.  I owned a a few pairs of fake Superstars before I purchased my first original pair from the Adidas

Arctic Fox Hair Dye Review on Dark Unbleached Hair

I've been meaning to try Arctic Fox's hair dyes for a couple of years but never got around to it because I feared it wouldn't show up on dark hair. It's been coming up more and more on Instagram again so I did some research and apparently Purple Rain, Aquamarine and Poseidon do show up on dark hair. So that's what I purchased! These retail for $7.99 (4 fl oz) or $13.99 (8 fl oz) on the Arctic Fox website but I got mine off Amazon .  Arctic Fox hair dyes are vegan and cruelty free. They also do not contain harsh chemicals like peroxides, ammonia and PPD. These are semi-permanent and they contain conditioning agents which means you can use these dyes as often as you want to without damaging your hair. Semi-permanent hair dyes only coat your hair so it will fade with each wash. The bottle claims that it can last up to 40 washes. These smell like grape candy so it is such a treat to use them. The instructions to use this is pretty simple. 1. Shampoo and w

Lime Crime Wet Cherry Lip Gloss Swatches & Review on Asian Skin (NC20)

Lime Crime came out with their new line of sheer lip glosses recently. I've done a swatch and review video on YouTube but I haven't done a write-up with close up swatch pictures for anyone who wants reference. There are 14 shades in total at the moment and they retail for $18. You get 2.96ml of product in each tube, which honestly is quite little. These lip glosses come in a chubby clear acrylic tube with a pink cap. The tube itself is quite big but don't let it fool you, because 2.96ml/0.1oz of product isn't as much as it looks. The applicator is a really big doe foot which is great for full lips but for me, it's just way too big and the applicator tends to pick up too much product for one application. The lip gloss has a delicious cherry candy scent to it which I love though! These go on sheer because they are meant to be sheer lip glosses. They give a nice tinted look but some colors tend to look streaky up close because of this. They do sink into your l
