ColourPop Creme Lux Lipstick Swatch & Review on Asian Skin

The ColourPop Lux Lipsticks have been out for awhile and I've been collecting them slowly because I just can't keep up with all the new stuff. I would love to get everything to swatch but I'm no "self-made billionaire" Kardashian.

These are the Creme formulas with a satin finish - some appear more matte than others though. They retail for $7 and you get 3.5g of product. Everything from the packaging to the formula to the performance is well worth that 7 bucks and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a new lippie. There is a color for everyone and I have 12 with me at the moment. I think they have well over 30 shades though...some would not look good on me, but these 12? Yasss gimme more.

These lippies give one swipe pigmentation and they glide on easily. They are very comfortable to wear throughout the day without drying your lips out. They do transfer but not majorly like some other creamy lipsticks. I think these wear off very gracefully and some shades do leave a stain behind as well to help with the look.

Btw, my skintone is Asian NC 20 with warm neutral undertones.

Pinkies Up
This is described as a rosey nude and I think it is the perfect MLBB or nude shade for me. It is a pink-toned nude so it really goes well with anything and everything. Definitely a must-have! This was supposed to be a limited edition shade but it has been on the site for forever. Currently on sale at $5.60.

LA Lady
This is a rosey terracotta shade. It's a warm toned nude that isn't took dark or too light. This shade would definitely look good on anyone.

Still Crazy
This is a mauvey pink and I wish it appeared more muted on me. Also, the swatch photo for this shade on the CP website is totally MISLEADING and wrong. I've not seen other swatches that look like those shown on the website.

C'Mon Sis (Shayla x ColourPop)
This is a limited edition collab shade that is way too similar to Still Crazy. It is less pink, more berry red but it is described as a pinkey brown. I think this is the perfect lip stain kind of shade.

Ghosted
This is a medium rose. It is a really fun shade that isn't too bright.

Angel City (Butterfly Spring Collection)
This is described as a dusty berry and I think it is the perfect red-but-not-really-red shade for those who want a red shade that isn't too bold or bright. I pined for this shade for a really long time before getting it lol.

Gallop
This is described as a true terracotta and I think it is a perfect burnt orange shade for fall. It's not too warm and not too bright. Perfect. Just perfect. A must have on my list!

Liquid Courage
This is described as a brick red, which is again, a really nice version of a muted red. I really like this shade too.

Unravelled (Spring Butterfly Collection)
This is a bright violet pink and such a fun color. It's on sale right now because it's going to be discontinued soon. Tbh, I picked it up because it was on sale.

This is a deep plummy beige and I love shades like this! It makes your lips look so juicy and it's also a really unique and pretty color. I'd say you need this one too.

Friends
This is a rich chocolatey brown shade. I don't really wear brown lipsticks but it does make me feel like eating chocolate.

Finally, we have this beautiful deepened teal. It is more of a denim blue teal which is absolutely gorgeous and also very unique among the teal lipsticks out there. This one is very pigmented, not patchy at all and nothing short of fantastic. I love me a good teal lipstick so if you love teals, get it! It does stain the lips pretty badly though, so if you need to remove it while you are outside, you'd best have a backup lipstick to hide that stain.

So from the Creme finishes, these are all the shades that I like or would wear. I'm not sure why I don't have Hello Stranger yet because I need a good dark red lipstick too. I wouldn't really steer towards the other shades that I didn't buy because they are either too pale or too bright or shades that I would not reach for other than to swatch for a post.

Matte Lux Lipsticks up next!

Real vs Fake Adidas Superstar/Stan Smith

I've wanted to do this post for a long time, ever since I started on my crazy collection of Adidas Superstars. I mean, I think I make quite a credible source because at one point, I owned 14 pairs of Superstars and Stan Smiths. I will be migrating my Superstar collection post over to this blog over the coming days so that you can read up on where I got them.

I'm not sure if these shoes are still as popular and wanted now because I am sort of out of the loop but if you are looking to get yourself a pair of Superstars or Stan Smiths, these are a few pointers to look out for in identifying if what you are buying is real or fake. Take note that these features are mostly applicable to recent releases only. Old models and Superstar 80s are slightly different. Then again, old models are not sold in stores anymore so if you find brand new pairs elsewhere, you should be cautious.

I owned a a few pairs of fake Superstars before I purchased my first original pair from the Adidas website. …

ALL ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip Swatches on Asian Skin + Review

Recently, I dug into my collection of ColourPop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipsticks and swatched all the available shades on their website. I'm missing 5 from the website and over here, I have 31. The rest have been swatched in other collection videos/posts.

Midi (Pale Dusty Pink) Against my skin tone, this is like a pastel pink. The color remains quite close to that of the tube but the formula is slightly thick and it does settle in my lip lines and feel dry. Not exactly a color I would pull off often but I can see it working with a colorful eye look or a smokey eye.

Bianca (Soft Mauve) Love this shade and it remains quite true to the tube but it is so drying and crumbly on the lips. It accentuates my lip lines and it cracks when I smile. One of the worse formulas in this bunch, especially considering that it is a nude and most companies do not mess these sort of colors.

Clueless (Dusty Mauve) This is a really cute shade. It pulls off pinker on me than in the tube and although ColourPop d…

diy: hair bows

From the cloth I bought recently at Daiso, and with the major diy mood I was in, I decided to make a bunch of hair bows to wear when school reopens. My tutorial has been inspired and sourced through many inspirations on pinterest.  Start off with a rectangular or square piece of fabric. Squares will result in bows like the blue floral one above while rectangles will be like this bow in the tutorial. Mine measured about 24cm by 12cm. For my blue floral one, i used a 15cm by 15 cm square. Fold your fabric in half, with the insides facing out and straight stitch as highlighted. Leave a gap at the edge because you will be inverting the fabric after you're done sewing. This gap should also be of reasonable size, not to small or you will have trouble inverting the cloth. Once you are done, invert the fabric and  straighten it out. You can sew up the gap at this point if it bothers you. Using a pin or a needle, make some pleats with the fabric and pin through to get the bow shape. Once yo…
