This post is a little late because this collection was released a month or two ago. Honestly, I haven't purchased anything from ColourPop since June so it's been awhile. There are quite a lot in the back to school fall collection but I'm only covering the ultra matte lips in this post. I got 6 out of 8 of them because the other two seemed too bright for my liking and not the kind of colors I would wear anyway. I'm still waiting for the lux lipsticks to restock so that I can swatch those too.
TBH, if you have a lot of their ultra matte or ultra satin liquid lipsticks already, you can pass on the majority of these shades. They are very similar to previously launched colors and the formulation isn't at its best.
Growing Pains (Soft peachy nude)
I was worried this would be unflattering or too pale for me but it turned out to be a nice nude shade with a touch of peach (leaning pink). It's not quite similar to other CP nudes in my collection but I will say the closest is Magic Wand USL, which leans a little warmer/beige than Growing Pains.
Yes Is More (Warm Vibrant Rose)
This turned out to be brighter than I expected but it is such a cute pinky red. This color seems to sink into my lip lines a little more but it didn't feel drying. This shade is quite comparable to Sizzle but Sizzle has a better formula.
Know It All (Brick Red)
You can't ever get enough burnt orange lipsticks when fall comes around. I think this is quite a unique color in the CP range because they haven't really done a burnt red-orange. It's like a mix between Avenue and Mama.
T'D Up (Smokey Mauve)
This one isn't quite part of the fall release but I don't even know when they released this shade. It's described as a smokey mauve but I'm getting more plum purple vibes. This is like a cross between Are N Be and Chaps from the Amanda Steele collection.
Pearl Next Door (Oxblood Red)
This is a true dark red shade and there is nothing exceptional about it. I'm sure you have a ton of similar shades in your collection if you are a fan of dark lips. This shade goes on quite patchy as well. Cashing Out (USL), Notion and Prim (USL) are some very similar shades.
Chalk And Roll (Cool Gray)
This is the ultra matte version of Petit Four (USL). The formula is quite problematic and butthole lips are unavoidable.
Class Pet (True Denim)
A unique blue that looks amazing with mustard sweaters. This reminds me of Jellies, a royal blue shade that has been discontinued. The formula is also patchy so you will need two coats to fix everything.
I'm such a huge fan of yours! You have such great ideas~
ReplyDeleteMaybe I missed it, but where did you find the amazing lipstick? I must have one! I will go to Ulta now!
Thank you so much!
