Favorite Looks From Trinkets

Have you caught the latest Netflix series called Trinkets? If you haven't, you definitely should! I think it is a cute coming-of-age story and I can't wait for more episodes. Another reason why I like the show so much is because of its fashion. When a show has good style, I can't help but be drawn into it.

Here are some of my favorite looks that I would love to recreate some day. It's not the most summer appropriate for this time of year but you can definitely use them as style inspo for fall. Sorry, but I'm definitely biased towards Tabitha's style because that is more me. I don't have a lot of Moe's looks because she has more of an athleisure style that doesn't vibe with me but it's cute if you are into that look.

We don't get a lot of scenes of Tabitha in this yellow turtleneck sweater and plaid skirt. This was taken from the opening scene of the show. Definitely something I'd wear.

Rachelle has kind of a preppy look. She wears a lot of blouses but over here, she has a white shirt with rainbow hearts which kinda reminds me of this tee by Delia's.

This purple and rust stripe sweater that Tabitha has on is giving me Unif vibes. The colors are stunning and she paired it with high waisted mom jeans and leopard print flats. Moe's shoes are looking rad here too.

Elodie's shirt reminds me of something Pull & Bear once had. They still have a ton of half sleeved stripe shirts right now but they might not be in this cute mustard color. Nevertheless, you really can't go wrong with colorful stripes and jeans.

Ugh, her leather jacket here is stunning! Such a unique blue and the designers really created a super cute look to complement it. Also, can we give those earrings a mention because they are cool af.

Tabitha's birthday dress is truly stunning. The dark maroon with sequins complement her skin tone and the maxi length makes her look so tall and elegant! LOVEEE!

This is a really simple look with a white shirt and black skinny jeans, but can we just obsess over that green denim jacket for a moment? I've honestly been looking for something like that for ages but I don't really know if I should get it as well because it is such a statement piece that is hard to match.
Digging Elodie's purple jeans here too though.

Elodie has a couple of cute striped sweaters in the show. This one just looks so soft and cuddly haha.
Similar to the first look but with a fitted olive shirt this time. I love those boots too!

Ok, tbh, everyone's party outfit in this episode was on point. Elodie's romper is so cute but Tabitha's outfit stole my heart (again). Maybe it's because she's tall af but I love the proportions of her style. She has on a plain white tee with a maxi slit skirt and cropped black jacket. I don't have a bird printed skirt but I do have floral slit maxis so this is something I can recreate too.
Moe's outfit is kinda cute too. She has this star printed shirt with striped jeans. I love mixing prints and patterns so this is an idea to keep in mind.

I'm such a sucker for complementary colors so when I saw Elodie in a golden mustard sweater with maroon pants, I was all heart eyes. The colors are perfect for fall.

Tabitha making cropped sweaters a thing all over again

I love the sweater Elodie has on. It is giving me vintage vibes! Plus the color is amazing.

We don't really get a full look of everyone's outfits from this scene but I do imagine that Tabitha is wearing high waisted denim with the sweater tucked in or cropped. Adore the color on her.
I've been into vintage floral blouses so this look vibes with me. She did a denim on denim kind of look by pairing similar blue tones together. We don't really see her use her coat much in this outfit except to rescue Elodie but it is such a gorgeous color too.

Real vs Fake Adidas Superstar/Stan Smith

I've wanted to do this post for a long time, ever since I started on my crazy collection of Adidas Superstars. I mean, I think I make quite a credible source because at one point, I owned 14 pairs of Superstars and Stan Smiths. I will be migrating my Superstar collection post over to this blog over the coming days so that you can read up on where I got them.

I'm not sure if these shoes are still as popular and wanted now because I am sort of out of the loop but if you are looking to get yourself a pair of Superstars or Stan Smiths, these are a few pointers to look out for in identifying if what you are buying is real or fake. Take note that these features are mostly applicable to recent releases only. Old models and Superstar 80s are slightly different. Then again, old models are not sold in stores anymore so if you find brand new pairs elsewhere, you should be cautious.

I owned a a few pairs of fake Superstars before I purchased my first original pair from the Adidas website. …

Arctic Fox Hair Dye Review on Dark Unbleached Hair

I've been meaning to try Arctic Fox's hair dyes for a couple of years but never got around to it because I feared it wouldn't show up on dark hair. It's been coming up more and more on Instagram again so I did some research and apparently Purple Rain, Aquamarine and Poseidon do show up on dark hair. So that's what I purchased! These retail for $7.99 (4 fl oz) or $13.99 (8 fl oz) on the Arctic Fox website but I got mine off Amazon.  Arctic Fox hair dyes are vegan and cruelty free. They also do not contain harsh chemicals like peroxides, ammonia and PPD. These are semi-permanent and they contain conditioning agents which means you can use these dyes as often as you want to without damaging your hair. Semi-permanent hair dyes only coat your hair so it will fade with each wash. The bottle claims that it can last up to 40 washes. These smell like grape candy so it is such a treat to use them. The instructions to use this is pretty simple. 1. Shampoo and wash hair witho…

diy: hair bows

From the cloth I bought recently at Daiso, and with the major diy mood I was in, I decided to make a bunch of hair bows to wear when school reopens. My tutorial has been inspired and sourced through many inspirations on pinterest.  Start off with a rectangular or square piece of fabric. Squares will result in bows like the blue floral one above while rectangles will be like this bow in the tutorial. Mine measured about 24cm by 12cm. For my blue floral one, i used a 15cm by 15 cm square. Fold your fabric in half, with the insides facing out and straight stitch as highlighted. Leave a gap at the edge because you will be inverting the fabric after you're done sewing. This gap should also be of reasonable size, not to small or you will have trouble inverting the cloth. Once you are done, invert the fabric and  straighten it out. You can sew up the gap at this point if it bothers you. Using a pin or a needle, make some pleats with the fabric and pin through to get the bow shape. Once yo…
